Everyone with at least one scored week, best margin over the Coach first. These are not ratings and they are not ranked. They are where the season stands so far.

How scoring works

Harder questions pay more. A two-way question (a spread, an over/under) is worth 1 point, a three-way choice is worth 1.5, and a four-way is worth 2. Anything that can't be settled fairly, a game landing exactly on the number or a tie for a stat lead, is voided and scores zero for everyone, including the Coach.

Your week is scored as the margin between your points and the Coach's on the same slate. That way a brutal week costs you nothing: if the whole field goes 4-for-10, the Coach did too, and your margin is unchanged. Roll those weekly margins up and you get your alpha, the points per week you are worth above the Coach. Zero means you matched the Coach, not that you got nothing right. The rating is that same number said in a word, and the standings order every member by it.

  1. UnratedNot enough weeks yet to say.
  2. HoldTrailing the Coach so far.
  3. BuyKeeping pace with the Coach.
  4. Strong BuyConsistently ahead of the Coach.
  5. Top PickAmong the sharpest in the field.

Only your recent weeks feed the number, so an old cold streak stops following you around, and short records are held toward the middle until you have played enough weeks for it to mean something. A single hot week never outranks a full season. That is also why joining mid-season costs you nothing: a Week 8 arrival is on level ground by the end of the year.

Weeks played is shown next to every rating, because a number earned over three weeks and a number earned over fifteen are not the same claim. Below the rated board, the number is the running total against the Coach, since a per-week average over one week is not really an average.
