Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective June 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information WaiverWire (“WaiverWire,” “we,” or “us”) collects when you use our websites, applications, projections, analytics, the Assistant Coach, Bulls vs. Bears, Open Field, and related services (the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy.
1. Information you give us
- Account information: email address, display name, and password (handled by our authentication provider — we never see or store your raw password).
- Fantasy league data you connect: when you link a Sleeper, Yahoo, ESPN, or CBS league, we read your rosters, league settings, and matchup data from that provider to power projections and the Assistant Coach. For providers that require a login cookie or credential (e.g. ESPN’s
espn_s2/SWID), that credential is kept in your browser’s local storage on your device and used to make requests on your behalf — we do not copy it into our servers or database. - Manual roster entries: if you build a roster by hand instead of connecting a league, those player selections are stored against your account so the Coach and cheat sheets can use them.
- Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid tier, billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and plan, never your full card number.
- Communications: messages you send us (e.g. support emails) and the questions you ask the Assistant Coach or BvB Coach.
2. Information we collect automatically
Standard technical data your browser sends with any web request — IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — which we use for security purposes: rate limiting, detecting scraping or abuse, and diagnosing outages. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell this data.
3. How we use your information
- Operate the Service: generate projections, rankings, risk scores, and Assistant Coach responses tailored to your roster and league settings.
- Maintain your account, subscription, and preferences.
- Send transactional email (welcome, billing receipts, password resets) and, if you opt in, product updates.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, scraping, and violations of our Acceptable Use Policy.
- Improve the Service — e.g. reviewing aggregate, de-identified usage patterns to see which features are used and where projections can be sharpened.
4. AI features & third-party processors
The Assistant Coach and BvB Coach send a compact snapshot of your roster, league settings, and your question to a third-party AI provider to generate a response. That provider processes the request to return an answer and does not use it to train their own models. We never send your email, payment details, or account credentials to the AI provider.
We rely on a small number of service providers (“subprocessors”) to run WaiverWire, each bound by its own privacy and security commitments:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Our AI provider — generates Assistant Coach and BvB Coach responses, as described above.
5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only: with the subprocessors above to operate the Service; when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of WaiverWire, our users, or the public; or with your consent. If WaiverWire is acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep account and roster data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@waiverwire.com. League credentials stored only in your browser (see Section 1) are removed whenever you disconnect the league or clear your browser storage.
7. Your choices
- Update your display name and preferences from your account page.
- Disconnect a linked fantasy league at any time; the credential is removed from your browser immediately.
- Manage or cancel your subscription from the billing portal.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential email using the link in any marketing message (transactional email, like billing receipts, can’t be turned off while your account is active).
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18. If we learn we’ve collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new version number and effective date at the top of this page.
